MEET EMILY

Hello, I’m Emily, founder of EMbalance, located in the beautiful village of Hanley Swan, a short distance from the Malvern Hills. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has long been an important part of my life having personally benefited from it’s healing powers over the years.

MY TREATMENTS

Hand Massage
Acupuncture

Traditional acupuncture is a holistic healing practice rooted in ancient Chinese medicine, dating back over 2,500 years. It involves the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the body, known as acupuncture points, which lie along pathways of energy flow called meridians.

Upper Back Massage
Tui Na Massage

Tui na Chinese Medical Massage (pronounced "twee nah"), also known as therapeutic massage, is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that involves the use of hands-on techniques to manipulate the body's energy flow and promote healing.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is an ancient therapeutic practice that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This suction facilitates healing by promoting blood flow, reducing inflammation, eliminating toxins and encouraging relaxation.

Moxa
Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves burning dried mugwort (moxa) on or near specific acupressure points on the body. This therapy aims to stimulate circulation and enhance the flow of Qi (vital energy) through the body's meridians, which are pathways that link various organs and functions

What is TCM?

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic system of health and healing that has been developed and practiced in China for over 2,000 years. It is based on the concept of balance and harmony within the body and between the body and the external environment. TCM integrates various practices, including herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, Tuina (therapeutic massage) and Qi Gong.

While TCM has ancient roots, it continues to evolve and integrate with modern medical practices. It is recognized and practiced worldwide, often complementing conventional Western medicine to provide a more comprehensive approach to health care.

TCM diagnosis involves observing, hearing, asking, and touching (inspection and palpation). Practitioners look at the tongue, feel the pulse, and inquire about symptoms to determine the patient's condition.

It is my mission to help treat the route courses of disease using a variety of therapies targeted at addressing the needs of each individual. TCM considers the whole person, including physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects. Whilst TCM is used to treat a broad variety of health concerns relating to the body and mind, regular treatments also offer an opportunity to maintain optimal health in a relaxed and calm environment, thus preventing illness when combined with a balanced lifestyle, good diet, regular exercise and mental well-being. During your initial consultation and throughout our journey together we will closely observe and listen to the needs of your body.

Cherry Blossoms

“I had been experiencing PMT symptoms that were increasing in severity. Within a month of receiving my first acupuncture treatment from Emily, I noticed a difference. After a few months of regular treatments, my mood and the overall feelings of hormone imbalance had shifted, making a huge difference to how I felt each month.”
